Discover more about wine at Grafene’s monthly wine tasting evenings! Every month Grafene hosts a tasting where guests can enjoy a three course meal whilst our Master of Wine Miles Corish talks through a selection of five wines he has specifically paired with each dish.

Our events follow a casual format and are incredibly relaxed making them a great opportunity to catch up with friends whilst getting to know more about the best vineyards and wines from around the world.

A three course meal will be prepared specially for each event by our Head Chef Stephen Moore to showcase the many talents in Grafene’s kitchen brigade whilst Miles will host the evening, and most importantly pour the wine!


About our Master of Wine, Miles Corish (Milestone Wines)

Miles is Managing Director of Milestone Wines, a wholesaler and retailer based in Lancashire, England. He is a Master of Wine, one of only a handful in the north of the UK and one of only 350 Masters of Wine in the world. Miles currently consults to and supplies some of the best restaurants in the North of England, working with them on wine list design, food and wine matching and staff education. As well as running his company, Miles is a WSET Educator, has a wine education business, judges at international wine competitions, consults for the off-trade and whenever time allows, returns to the Hunter Valley in Australia to make wine.

Born and educated in Australia, Miles’ career in wine began working for Marie Brizzard - supplying some of Sydney’s top restaurants, bars and wine retailers with wines and spirits. After a two-year stint, Miles left Australia and travelled to Yorkshire, England to fulfil a short-term contract to play professional cricket. Whilst in the UK the diversity of the wine offering and the opportunity to learn via WSET proved enticing and after a brief return to Australia, Miles moved to England to further a career in wine.

Whilst in the UK, and following a vintage at Tyrrells in 2001, Miles continued to travel back to the Hunter Valley (Australia) on a regular basis to work as an assistant winemaker. His passion for winemaking along with the generous assistance from family, friends and colleagues, enabled him to fulfil one of his dreams and become a wine brand owner.

Success at WSET Diploma and winning the Champagne Academy Golden Magnum award for best student, proved sufficient encouragement to pursue a long-held ambition to study for the Master of Wine. Happily, this was successfully completed in 2015.
