Wine Tasting: Ismael Gozalo/Microbio Wines
Event Information
Description
Ismael Gozalo / Microbio Wines (Nieva, Rueda, Spain)
Your chance to taste the wines of the man they call 'The Magician of Verdejo'. Focusing on his main grape variety (though we'll also taste a couple of reds) this tasting will showcase what is possible when ancient terroir and beautiful vineyards are paired with imagination, bravery and a large helping of eccentricity.
Our wine tastings are a very informal flight through 6 to 8 wines on a given subject, be that a general theme, a particular region or an individual winemaker. The tastings are led by one of our staff members, who will provide a short introduction to each wine and be on hand to answer any questions. Do not expect to leave a wine expert! The tastings are intended to give you an opportunity to taste some exciting natural wines amongst interested and convivial company, rather than to teach or instruct.
The sessions begin at 7pm sharp (please do not be late or you risk missing out on wines!), and last between 90 minutes and 2 hours. In addition to the wines, the ticket price includes some artisan cheese, charcuterie and bread to be shared by the table and to accompany the wines (though we do recommend having dinner before or after).
Tastings take place around our communal table. We encourage the whole room to participate and discuss, but group bookings will be seated together, and if you have booked individually and you would like to sit with a specific person, please email us (shop@thewinemakersclub.co.uk) to let us know.
Unfortunately, if we sell fewer than 10 tickets to any given tasting the event will be postponed. Anyone who has bought a ticket will be given at least 24 hours’ notice and a full refund.
