About this event

Ever wondered how the location of a vineyard affects the taste of a specific wine, or if there even is a difference? This Malbec tasting features 5 wines a gin, expertly produced in different Argentinian regions

The tasting includes:

Munay Malbec Rosé. Cafayate Valley, Salta - This fresh and bright Malbec Rose has a pale salmon pink colour and a fine florality, with aromas of wild strawberry and cherry. In the mouth is elegant and delicate, with crunchy acidity, redcurrant and strawberry flavours. Argentina meets Provence.

Munay Malbec. Cafayate Valley, Salta - A stunning Malbec from the Cafayate Valley in Argentina. This full – bodied Malbec has pure, ripe fruits such as raspberry, strawberry and cherry combined with a hint of spice due to the oak contact. This wine is rounded and gentle yet firm on the palate with a long finish.

Mad Bird Dark Malbec. San Martin, Mendoza - A rich full bodied Malbec with a deep purple red colour. There is a sweetness of fruit here on the palate with hints of blackcurrent and dark red cherries complimented by flavours of black pepper with a toch of mint. The tannins are well integrated to give a wonderful rich mouth feel and long persistant finish.

ID Wild South Malbec, Patagonia - Intense aromas of plums and black forest fruits, with subtle notes of florality and violets. Minerality and earthy flavours on the palate with a medium structure and soft tannins.

Las Perdices Reserve Malbec. Agrelo, Mendoza - Very intense purple red colour. Aromas of red fruits, raspberry, accompanied by notes of vanilla and coffee provided by aging in oak. Smooth on the palate, balanced, with notes of plums, cherries, red fruits, violets, chocolate, and coffee. Smooth and ripe tannins. Pleasant and extensive finish on the palate. Ideal to accompany grilled meats and vegetables, pasta or hard cheeses.

Hilbing Gin Malbec. Mendoza - The are five fine natural botanicals used in the production of this premium Argentinian gin, the core of which are Malbec raisins, these combine harmoniously with Patagonia juniper berries, wild rose petals from the piedmont of Mendoza, toated coriander seeds from the Pampas region and Linden flowers from centenary trees surrounding the Hilbing family home.

The tasting is served with nibbles with an option to upgrade to a cheese & charcuterie board (serves 2) for an additional £15. The tasting lasts approx 2-3 hours
