Wing Chun Kung Fu Taster Class (Self-defense)
Overview
In this free 75min class, we will learn the most fundamental principles of Wing Chun Kung Fu.
Wing Chun (also written Wing Tsun) is a Chinese martial art created by a Shaolin nun around 300 years ago. Unlike other fighting styles, it emphasizes skill, balance, and precision rather than brute force. Simple, efficient, and effective, Wing Chun is known as one of the most practical systems of self-defense.
We will learn:
- Understanding distance and the danger zone
- How to release basic locks from stronger opponents
- How to use body language in a self defense situation
- The principle of the centre line
- How to stick to your opponent and respond to their force
No prior experience needed. It's best to wear comfortable clothes. You will need to remove your shoes before entering the studio.
A dvisory information
All participants must be over 18 to attend.
This is a group class involving partner drills and some degree of physical contact, and fighting drills in a controlled environment. If you are currently experiencing acute pain or injury, you may be more suited to beginning with a 121 session.

Javier has over 25 years experience in Martial Arts, including 10 years of Tai Chi and Qi Gong practice. He teaches Qi Gong, Nei Gong, Movement, Yoga, Boxing, Self-Defense and Calisthenics in London and online.
