Event description

Description

The English Labour Network is bringing together party activists at every level to make Labour’s case for England to English voters.

Since we founded in July we've been building our online network, with hundreds of Labour members signing up, including MPs, council leaders and councillors from across the country. You can sign up here.

Over the coming months and years we'll support Labour in power in local authorities, share campaigns that promote Labour’s values, and help shape an appeal to English voters that is both patriotic and progressive.

Join us in Brighton for our official launch event where we'll hear from some of our founding supporters: NEC members Shabana Mahmood MP and Cllr Alice Perry, and Jeremy Corbyn's leadership campaign director Cllr Sam Tarry. Come and tell us how the English Labour Network can be most effective in supporting campaigning in your part of England.

We'll be discussing a range of topics, including:
- Why winning England is critical for Labour.
- What Labour can do to appeal to those voters it has fared less well with recently, including 'English identifiers' and older working class voters.
- Why a progressive English patriotism can be a force for good.
- How we get devolution within England and ensure England has a voice in the union.

The discussion will be chaired by the English Labour Network's director John Denham, and will take place in the Glyndebourne 1 room of the Holiday Inn on Brighton's Seafront
. Refreshments will be available.
