Mindfulness-based stress reduction (MBSR) is a cognitive and behavioral program developed by Jon Kabat-Zinn at the University of Massachusetts Medical Center, which uses a combination of mindfulness meditation, body awareness, and yoga (though I teach more mindful movement than yoga) to help people become more mindful. In recent years this meditation course has been the subject of controlled clinical research which has found beneficial effects, including stress reduction, relaxation, and improvements to quality of life. While MBSR has its roots in spiritual teachings, the program itself is secular.

N.B - as well as the 8 weekly sessions this programme also includes an all day retreat with lunch at (Drumalis Retreat Centre, Larne on 4 December). It also includes a comprenshive, supportive file and 3 audio tracks for practice.
