FREE Bird Identification and Survey Skills , Saturday 12th November 10.00am -4.00pm
A beginners workshop to wintering birds at Shibdon Ponds Nature Reserve, Blaydon. We will be looking at species identification and discussing the different approaches to surveying winter and why some birds come to the UK this time of year. The workshop will be led by a local expert from GEES and combine classroom sessions with outdoor field work (please ensure warm clothes and waterproofs). Attendees need have no prior knowledge of local bird species and this course aims to equip people to identify and record a variety of species found in the area.
