Winter in the Heart of England Forest Arboretum - Guided Walk
Overview
Step into the serene winter atmosphere of the Forest and experience the stillness and subtle beauty of the season. Join a member of our Forestry team for an exclusive 2-hour guided walk through the Heart of England Forest Arboretum as it settles into its winter rest.
Beginning in some of our oldest plantations, you’ll follow permissive pathways and public rights of way through the Dorsington woodlands to the Arboretum. Along the way, take in the quiet landscapes, bare silhouettes, and evergreen contrasts that define the forest at this time of year.
The Arboretum, home to over 600 species of trees, takes on a striking new character in winter. Discover how different trees adapt to the colder months, from hardy evergreens to gracefully leafless species revealing their intricate branching structures. Learn about the seasonal changes taking place beneath the surface, the importance of winter dormancy, and the wildlife that continues to thrive in the quieter months.
Whether you’re a nature lover, keen photographer, or simply looking for a peaceful winter walk, this experience offers a refreshing perspective on the forest’s seasonal cycle. Perfect for families, walkers, and anyone curious to explore the Forest in its most tranquil season.
