Event description
The Winter School in Psychiatry is a one-day virtual event open to undergraduate medical students.

About this event

Hosted by the National Centre for Mental Health (NCMH) and the MRC Centre for Neuropsychiatric Genetics and Genomics (MRC CNGG) in Cardiff, the aims of this event are to:

  • enable students to learn more about mental health and psychiatry
  • dispel some of the myths and stigma that continue to exist
  • support students to consider the relevance of mental health whatever speciality you may choose in the future

There will be an exciting mixture of talks from clinical and academic psychiatrists, individuals with lived experience of mental illness and mental health charities/organisations.

Throughout the day we will explore diverse experiences of mental illness, the broad field of psychiatry, and the journey through psychiatry training.

We'll keep everything as interactive as possible, as well as listening to our inspiring speakers, you will have plenty of opportunities to get involved with small group discussions, network with other attendees and presenters, and ask any questions you may have.

Join us online on Saturday 4 December 2021 from 9:30am

Register today to reserve your place.
