Event description

Description

As part of our Walking History, Heritage Lottery Fund, project this event is the second of three storytelling walks along the Moray Way this winter.

Sunday 26th November 11.45am

Speyside Junction to the Penny Brig

This walk, led by storyteller Ben Hinnie, covers approximately three miles from the Speyside Way car park at Craigellachie to the suspension brig at Aberlour. Hear stories of how the River Spey was used as the highway north from the Spey valley to the Moray coast. Often benign but at times deadly, its waters have influenced the fortunes of Strathspey inhabitants for centuries before the coming of bridges, roads and railways. The walk will end at the Old Station Tearooms in Aberlour, which will be specially opened for the event!

Meet at the Old Station Tearooms Aberlour at 11:45 on Sunday 26th November, where you will be transported to the start of the walk at Craigellachie.

£10 (includes transport to the start of the walk). Children (U16) FREE but must be accompanied by an adult.

For further information please email info@moraywalkingfestival.co.uk

More information will be coming soon about the final walk on Saturday 2 December - A walk near Burghead with Margot Henderson
