This one day course will provide an introduction to identifying broadleaved trees in winter and is intended for the beginner.

Depending on weather conditions, part of the day will be spent in the classroom sorting through specimens and learning the key features of bare stems and winter buds. Time will also be spent in the grounds of Vogrie Country Park in order to put into practice what has been learnt in the classroom.

The course will be led by botanist and Acting TWIC Manager, Natalie Harmsworth.

Meeting Point: Nature Studies Room in Vogrie House.

What to bring: suitable outdoor footwear, waterproof clothing, a packed lunch and a hand lens if you have one (spare hand lens will be available). Teas/ coffees will be provided.
