Delighted to be welcoming Brighde back for another series of Winter sessions and particularly grateful that she can fit our much loved C tunes into her busy touring schedule. As Brighde's approach to smallpipe playing evolves and breaks new ground so does our anticipation as to what she will select for us to learn over the Winter. We will be covering some of the existing repertoire from previous years but will also have a few more sets to challenge our ears and fingers.
As ever these sessions aim to connect the Far North community, welcome new people and develop a common repetoire over the darker months of the year and it's always a joy to come together and see one another and share some tunes.
Brighde will be leading the sessions on smallpipes in the key of C. A set list, audios and manuscripts will be sent out ahead of time so you can familiarise yourselves with the tunes.
The live meet ups take place on Zoom where you will just hear yourself and Brighde playing together. It works surprisingly well.
You don't have to have joined us before in order to participate - you won't be at any disadvantage and we love to welcome new folk.
Any instrument can join us but a penchant for pipe tunes would be wise.
