There is something deeply satisfying about braving winter conditions to attend the (apparently) fruitless task of seeking out potentially edible foods at this time of year. And most of the time you can be sure you won’t be coming home with a laden basket of goodies. But whilst the volume may be more limited than other times of year, the variety and quality of food on display is hearteningly rich. We will expect to find a mixture of roots, leaves and fungi, of both edible and medicinal varieties. The walk will be wrapped up with a sampling session of our finds along with some warming (read: alcoholic!) wild wines, to keep the chills at bay.
This event is held in Fletcher Moss Park in Didsbury, south Manchester.
