About this event
- Event lasts 2 hours
Winter in the northern hemisphere can be a time of year that many are challenged by. For some it is the time for slowing down, making the fire, dreaming a future of balance and harmony and reflecting on what really matters. To help us Winter well and value the journey of harvest, aging, becoming elder and winter’s darkness, we can turn to the wisdom, mythology and medicine of the Crone, the divine elder woman or Wise Woman. In Irish and Scottish Gaelic she is known as the Cailleach – the veiled one. She is sometimes known as the Midwife of Winter, offering wisdom and guidance for the winter season before delivering us into the green lap of Spring, when Bigid takes up her mantle. In this seminar we will look at Wintering, aging, release and the Crone in the context of the Celtic Wheel of the Year, and explore some of the contents of the Crone’s medicine bag. We will reflect on our relationship to winter, darkness, aging and what an elder might be. Collectively we can share ideas about what helps us Winter well in these challenging, uncertain and creative times.
As dusk approaches we will create a simple, candle-lit ritual together.
Please note that at Tariki Trust, we generally do not record our online events. Unfortunately, we cannot offer refunds to people who do not show up assuming that they will get a recording.
