Our Speaker this month is Caroline Clark will be talking about the steep learning curve that she has had since starting her own business - Pet Education and Training (PET UK) in October 2014, and how WiRE has been instrumental in helping me meet some inspiring and helpful people which has really been useful in pointing me in the right direction.
"Caroline Clark qualified as a veterinary nurse in 1989 and, after working with a variety of different animals in private veterinary practices, went to teacher training college. She spent a number of years teaching animal related courses to veterinary nurse students and under-graduates. In 2006 she completed a 3 year Post Graduate Diploma in Animal Behaviour Counselling and is a recognised freelance Registered Clinical Animal Behaviour Counsellor, specialising in feline behaviour.
In October 2014 Caroline launched her business: Pet Education and Training (PET UK). She offers hosted and on-line training to both the pet professional and pet owners on animal behaviour, health and welfare. More recently she developed an accredited e-learning First Aid for Pets course, teaching people how to respond to an emergency situation. This is now being studied by all the employees working for a national home from home pet caring company. Caroline is also an advisor for local RSPCA centres, is a guest blogger and writes articles for veterinary journals.'

Dates for your diary - Next Meetings are November 9th and December 14th.
On Nov 9th we welcome Margaret and Frances two volunteers from the local Samaritan Branch based in Scarborough. They will talk for about half an hour about the wide ranging work of Samaritans. Following the talk there will be an opportunity to ask questions.
If you know of anyone who would like the Samaritans to give a talk to a group please bring along the details and Margaret will happily arrange a mutually convenient time. If you would like to volunteer with Samaritans both ladies will be happy to help.
The Samaritans is a registered charity aimed at providing emotional support to anyone in emotional distress, struggling to cope, or at risk of suicide throughout the United Kingdom and Ireland, often through their telephone helpline. Founded in 1953 by a C of E Vicar Chad Varah, following an experience as a young curate when he had had to take a funeral for a girl of fourteen who had killed herself, The Samaritans now have 201 branches nationwide and over 20,000 volunteers.
December 14th - TBC
