Learning content: An engaging discussion through interactive presentations with speakers from Wirral University Teaching Hospital. Speakers will discuss with delegates current guidelines and dental management in repect to Medication-related Osteonecrosis of the Jaw (MRONJ).
Learning Aims:
The session will provide:
- a brief history of MRONJ dating back 20 years and the importance of pharmacokinetics
- a summary of the current guidelines in respect to dental management of MRONJ
Learning Objectives:
By the end of the session delegates should be able to:
- Explain current understanding of MRONJ
- Recognise common medications and the importance of pharmicokinetics related to MRONJ
- Identify the current guidelines for the management of MRONJ in dental practice
- Discuss, in practice, the three most common patient groups who are taking antiresorptive medication and are at risk of MRONJ

Learning content:
Delegates will be given insight into the current campaign 'Save NHS Dentistry', which has delivered a petition to government with two main focuses:
1. Properly fund NHS dentistry, so everyone who needs care can secure it.
2. Scrap the failed contracts forcing dentists out of the NHS and rebuild a service with prevention at its heart.

The session will provide:
- an insight into how the speaker got involved in a national campaign
- suggestions for anyone wishing to take part in a similar campaign
