Somatic practise

Take part in embodied somatic exercises to bring you into resonance with yourself your body and others in the circle. Coach Play leads the group through activities that support nervous system regulation and grounding of particpants in the space, before we begin sharing or creating.


Performance

Up to 6 writers perform in a the showcase based around this month's theme. Usually there will be 1-2 feature writers performing a slightly longer set.

Wisdom's Village is a relaxed, inclusive space for over 18s. No previous experience is needed and you needn't consider yourself a writer. You simply need to be ready to enter this safe space, and savour the goodness of the written and spoken word.


The space is also open to non-performers / showcasers. Come, listen, discuss and enjoy.


This experience forms part of Coach Play's #embodiedagainstburnout creative well-being programme. Designed to support emotional, mental and spiritual well-being, participants are encuraged to sign up for these fun, creative, community building sessions.

Frequently asked questions

Can I attend purely as an audience member for the performance?

Yes, you are welcome to attend for just the performance section. You are also encouraged to attend other sections of the evening, to make connections with others.

Can I pay for my ticket on the door?

Yes you may but please note that tickets are cheaper in advance.

Do performers have to pay to attend?

Performers are required to purchase a ticket, and they are offered free entry for one guest as a thank you for sharing. Simply submit the guest's name once you have been confirmed as a performer for a given date.

Will there be tech to consider?

Performers can perform with or without the a mic and stand, provided on the night. Those requiring music to be played are asked to supply the audio files as MP3 no later than three days in advance via email. Please also bring the track on your phone or mp3 player. Musicians advise on needs.

Is Coach Play a therapist?

No, Coach Play is an integrative well-being coach that uses arts activities, play and somatic practices to support emotional and mental health. All performers are advised to be mindful of the content of the work they choose to share with respect to the well-being of all attendees.

Is the venue wheelchair accessible?

Unfortunately, our new venue is not yet wheelchair accessible. The ground floor level is accessible from the street via two steps upwards. There is no handrail. The venue is working on accessibility for all patrons, as part of their mid-term goals.
