Is Coach Play a therapist?

No, Coach Play is an integrative well-being coach that uses arts activities, play and somatic practices to support emotional and mental health. All performers are advised to be mindful of the content of the work they choose to share with respect to the well-being of all attendees.

Can I present more than one piece

Accepted Answer

To honour the space, time and opportunity for all attendees and participants we ask that you only submit one piece to pitch, for each gathering. You are invited to pitch every time you, book to join us. Kindly note that in some instances Coach Play may select ONE piece from the group for sharing.

How do I get the link to join?

Accepted Answer

You will receive the link for the meeting as part of your booking confirmation. This is not to be shared with others, as it is a closed event for paid attendees only. Any unregistered guests will not be invited onto the platform.

If you need resources formatted in larger font/ on a specific range of coloured background, please advise at least 7 days in advance so this can be arranged for you.

Can I invite friends and family as audience members?

Yes, we fully encourage bringing support but please note that they will need to pay for their virtual ticket in advance. Remember that having additional guests does not secure you one of the 5 platform slots, as these are selected via group vote.

Is there a specific style of writing, type of writer or genre?

Accepted Answer

No, there are no restrictions on style, writer type or genre. We welcome and encourage all writer types and styles and genres. Please note we do not support hate speech, or divisive materials. If your work is of a sensitive nature, it will be screened in advance.

Question 7

I'm a singer song-writer. Can I share my work on this platform?

Accepted Answer

Yes, absolutely! All writer types are welcome! If you intend to perform your work as a sung piece rather than as a reading, please advise Coach Play in advance of any technical requirements. If backing track is intended for use, that may need to be shared in advance.

Question 8

I'm a playwright. I may need others to read in some of the parts in my script. Can that be arranged.

Yes! We'd love for you to bring your script work to the village. Coach Play will happily read in, and we can ask for volunteers from the group to also participate if they wish. Please be mindful that this may become tricky for scripts featuring four or more characters, depending on attendee numbers.

Where possible Coach Play will make use of the caption tool on the platform. Please note that this feature is dependent on the tool's functionality on the zoom app, so Coach Play cannot guarantee this, but efforts will be made.
