Event description

Description

Qoya is based on the simple idea that through movement we remember. As women, we remember that our true essence is Wise, Wild and Free.
This is a day in beautiful surroundings to take time out to meaningfully explore what Wise, Wild and Free means to us.

Imbolc is half way between Winter Solstice and Spring Equinox and the time we begin to notice the first signs of Spring and welcome the return of the light. It is a time of new beginnings and the air is filled with hope and inspiration. What better time to explore the wonderful themes of Wise, Wild and Free and how they can be embodied within us for the coming year.

Wise, Wild and Free also draw reference to some of the movement types we will be using during the day to explore these themes.
Wise - from the wisdom of yoga and the idea that all we need is already within us.
Wild - from the creative expression of free dance - tapping into our innate wild nature
Free- from the ability to slow down and really enjoy moving freely in our bodies.

Howsham Mill is a beautifully restored watermill and folly where we will spend the day with the log burner lit, surrounded by nature, nourished by delicious vegetarian food - a wonderful space to slow down, take time out to reconnect to our true essence through movement.
The sound track will be epic and through yoga, dance, sitting in circle with other like minded women, ritual and nature, you will end the day feeling deeply connected to yourself, inspired, refreshed, Wise, Wild and Free!

There is a short walk from the car park to the Mill along a flat path.
Please wear layers and bring your favourite blanket and a journal.
