About this event

Mindfulness and creative writing are a magical combination.

Mindfulness helps us develop a certain quality of awareness and attention to ourselves and our surroundings. It gets us in a headspace where we can let our imaginations run free and flow as easily and gently as our breath.

We practise mindfulness to ground ourselves in the present moment and then use the tool of creative writing to free our thoughts, emotions and imaginations.

Everyone has a story to tell, something to say. Using creative prompts and ideas to stimulate your imagination you are guided gently through practices and exercises that enable you to become present and let your imagination flow. We might be inspired by words, images or music, there will be a range of creative catalysts to stir your imagination.

All are welcome, even those new to mindfulness and creative writing. All you need is an open mind, a notebook and a pen.
