WISERD TCB: Rhaglennu a chodio â SPSS a Stata

Dyddiad: Dydd Ilun 20 Mai 2019

Dr Martijn Hogerbrugge o Brifysgol Caerdydd fydd yn arwain y ddau weithdy hanner diwrnod i ymchwilwyr. Gall y rhai sy’n cymryd rhan fynd i un sesiwn neu’r ddwy. Bydd angen cofrestru ar gyfer y ddwy.

Mae’r gweithdai wedi’u teilwra at ymchwilwyr sy’n:

Defnyddio SPSS, ond sydd wedi dibynnu ar y rhyngwyneb pwyntio-a-chlicio yn unig hyd yma

Dyheu am bontio o SPSS neu Excel i Strata wrth ddelweddu data meintiol

Gweithdy’r bore (tair awr)

Byddwn yn cyflwyno côd cystrawennol SPSS ac yn canolbwyntio ar greu a chofnodi data, cynnal dadansoddiadau sylfaenol a defnyddio gorchmynion SPSS fel ‘ailadrodd’, ‘dolennu’ a ‘fector’ i wneud y prosesu ailadroddus.

Gweithdy’r prynhawn (pedair awr)

Cyflwynir y codau cystrawennol Strata/.do cyfatebol ar gyfer creu a chofnodi data, a chaiff gorchmynion defnyddiol nad ydynt ar gael yn SPSS eu hamlinellu. Trafodir y tri lluniad rhaglennu ar gyfer prosesu ailadroddus.

Noder, mae lleoedd yn brin, a bydd angen i ni flaenoriaethu’r rhai sy’n bwriadu mynd i’r gweithdy Delweddu data â Stata drannoeth.

Os oes gennych unrhyw gwestiynau ynghylch y sesiynau hyn, cysylltwch â Swyddog Digwyddiadau WISERD, Jane Graves.

WISERD TCB: Programming and coding in SPSS and Stata

Date: Monday 20 May 2019

These two half-day workshops for researchers are led by Dr Martijn Hogerbrugge , Cardiff University. Participants can attend either or both sessions, and need to register for each

Workshops are aimed at researchers who:

Use SPSS, but have thus far only relied on its point-and-click interface

Wish to make the step from SPSS or Excel to Stata when visualizing quantitative data

Morning workshop (three hours)

We will introduce the SPSS syntax code and focus on creating and recording data, performing basic analyses, and using SPSS ‘do repeat’, ‘loop’ and ‘vector’ commands to perform repetitive processing.

Afternoon workshop (four hours)

The equivalent Stata/.do syntax codes for creating and recoding data will be introduced, and useful commands not available in SPSS will be highlighted. The three key programming constructs for repetitive processing will be discussed.

Please note, spaces are limited and we will need to prioritize participants who are planning to attend the Data visualization using Stata workshop the following day.

If you have any questions about these sessions, please contact WISERD Events Officer, Jane Graves  .
