We invite you to join us for a residential weekend at Wiston Lodge, Biggar. This magical location has worked with AUKScot over many years and has built up an understanding of our families and their children. Having exclusive use of the property for the weekend allows a freedom to relax in the company of others who 'get it'.
The weekend will include organised outdoor adventure type activities that all members of the family can take part in (generally for those aged 6 years+). These activities will be led by qualified instructors from Wiston Lodge supported by AUK staff/volunteers and can include archery, bushcraft, high/ low ropes course, canoeing and raft building. For the grown ups there will be optional parents only workshops and a chance to chat to AUK staff. The 'disturb parents only in an emergency room' for relaxing and chatting will also be available...
Thanks to a successful application to Better Breaks and the support of other fundraising efforts we are pleased to offer the same ticket prices for the weekend as last year. The cost of the weekend includes all accommodation, meals and refreshments (including Sunday lunch), outdoor and indoor activities and instructors. However, the first meal provided will be breakfast on Saturday morning and families should make their own dinner arrangements before arriving on Friday night.
Families can choose to stay in the main house, in one of the log cabins on site, or camp using their own tent/camper-van.
House accommodation is allocated on a first come first served basis and on family size. Most rooms contain bunk beds only and are not en-suite.
Cabin bedrooms can host families of up to 3 people, and each cabin has two of these bedrooms with a shared bathroom.
The camping field has 24Hr access to toilets, showers and to a water supply via onfield taps.
For those who might want to come and take part but are not sure about staying overnight we have a Saturday day rate.
Please remember that parents will be responsible for their children at all times during the weekend.
