The History of Witchcraft on Alston Moor with demonstrations and performance pieces. Doors open at 7pm and the event begins at 7.30pm.

About this Event

Find out what what Witches believed, who was accused and how were they punished. What was the Witches mark and do witches dolls actually have power. Also, who were the local Witches and what did they do?

This is a highly entertaining evening aimed at giving you a fun night immersed in the darker side of local history.

In the 17th century, Witches were tortured, burned at the stake or hung. Dare you step through the mists of the cauldron of time?

Practical demonstrations and enthralling performances will whisk you back to the era of the witch panic.

Witness experiments including the use of flying ointments and the effects of healings and curses. See genuine witchcraft relics from Cara's own dark museum. Discover the shocking acts of necromancers and explore the beliefs and folklore of the time.
