Event description
Led by Revd Adrian Roux. This event will equip people to be mentors for students on the Worship: Leading and Preaching course.

About this Event

All worship leaders and local preachers are welcome to attend this online event, and of course, it is essential training for those who will serve as local mentors. There is no need for prior teaching experience and all accredited preachers and worship leaders are encouraged to attend.

During this training we will focus specifically on the skills and approaches needed in supporting learning as a mentor. We will do this in an interactive was as possible so that you may leave better equipped to support your mentees in their learning.

There will also be space within this event for small group conversations and Q&A.

This is a repeat of the training last offered in November 2020. We also plan to repeat this training as an evening event later in the year. Please email us if you would prefer to attend an evening training: lns&i@methodistchurch.org.uk

The Connexional Team are also running training on what is new in the W:L&P 3.0 course. Please email: localpreachers@methodistchurch.org.uk for more information.

What if I'm not ordained, not employed by a church, a volunteer or from another denomination?

We welcome all! Whether you're paid or volunteer, lay or ordained or from another denomination, we'd love you to come and be part of things!

How much does this training event cost?

This event is free to anyone - just register and you'll receive joining instructions for the webinar.

About the Connexional Learning Network

Learning and development across the connexion is supported by the Methodist Church's Learning Network. This work has four aims:

  • nurturing and equipping Christ-like disciples
  • challenging and equipping mission-shaped communities
  • forming and equipping those who share in lay and ordained ministry
  • enabling and encouraging creative thinkers in an environment of scholarship, research and innovation.

The Southern & Islands Region of the Learning Network covers the Channel Islands, South-East, and Southampton districts of the Methodist Church. The region is supported by a team of Learning and Development Officers and a Regional Coordinator who work in partnership with many other people who have a heart and passion for learning and development in the context of mission and ministry.
