Inspired by the May Morris: Art & Life exhibition, the William Morris Gallery Young Curators have produced a free one-off Late event that will celebrate the art of contemporary needlecraft.
This is a unique opportunity to explore the exhibition of May Morris’ intricate designs alongside the permanent William Morris pieces in a sociable environment.
The evening will include:
• Drop in cross - stitch workshop led by contemporary textile artist Mr X Stitch
• A talk by Mr X Stitch “The View from the Cutting (& Stitching) Edge” A tour of the world of contemporary embroidery and needlecraft. (8.15pm) - (please note there are limited spaces available, this is first come, first serve)
• Performance by Flock Theatre Ensemble called ‘That’s Mine’ (7pm repeated at 8.00pm)
• Music all night from Presenter & DJ Rebecca Judd (Westside FM)
• Refreshments on sale
This event is aimed at 16-25s (but open to all) with an interest in arts and crafts. Anyone interested in becoming a young curator will also have the opportunity to meet the group.
