Description


What is the purpose of this meeting?

To explore best practice in DXA scanning & reporting and to highlight National Osteoporosis Society resources for DXA services.

What should I expect?

To learn about best practice in DXA scanning & reporting and how the NOS can support them with professional development. The meeting will explore best practice of the following:

  1. DXA referral: IR(ME)R regulations
  2. DXA technique
  3. DXA Reporting

We will also be launching the Bone Densitometry Foundation Course (e-learning) - a BRAND NEW online course for everyone working in DXA.

Who should attend this meeting?

WOAG members and other Healthcare Professionals in Wales with an interest in the DXA and fracture prevention.

About WOAG:

WOAG was established in 2001 with the aim of;

  • Developing, establishing and disseminating advice and guidance to Local Health Boards on matters related to osteoporosis.
  • Liaising with the Welsh Government.
  • Developing and implementing strategies that will provide equitable osteoporosis services across Wales.
  • Holding scientific meetings and supporting the training and development of all those involved in promoting bone health in Wales.
