Description

An afternoon of gin and short films, brought to you by Mother's Ruin and Women Over 50 Film Festival.

Animation, drama, comedy, experimental and documentary short films by or about older women.

WOFFF is open to all - all ages, all genders are welcome. As long as you want to be part of the conversation about older women, as long as you’re interested in what it means to be an older women living in the world today, we want to see at WOFFF!

Film screening include:
Audience Choice Winner and Best Experimental Winner: EDEK by Malcolm Green
A Polish Holocaust survivor and an American rapper deliver a Hip Hop message, a fusion of prose, music and rap.

Tong and Cai Yun, in their 50s and 70s respectively, have seen a lot of changes in the Taipei Tongzhi (LGBTQ) landscape. A reflection on gender, perception, moving apart and coming together.

FAQs

Are there ID or minimum age requirements to enter the event?

No, you don't need ID to enter the venue. Mother's Ruin Gin Palace does sell alcohol so you need ID if you want to buy drinks.

Everyone's welcome - no matter your age or gender - and we especially welcome younger people coming to watch our films.

The films we're screening are by about older women so the films are mainly about older women's lives.

What are my transport options for getting to and from the event?

The nearest tube is Walthamstow Central (Victoria line and overground train from Liverpool St).

Wood St (overground train from LIverpool St).

Do I have to bring my printed ticket to the event?

No, you don't need to bring your printed ticket. Your ticket on your phone is fine. This is a first come, first served ticket so if the venue is full when you arrive, you'll have to wait untill other people leave before you can come in. People come and go throughout the afternoon so there's usually always room for everyone. We've never had to turn anyone away in the 3 years we've run this event.

Is it ok if the name on my ticket or registration doesn't match the person who attends?

That's fine, as long as you have a ticket on your phone or printed out.

Does my tickets guarantee entry?

No, it doesn't. This is a first come, first served venue. People come and go throughout the afternoon so there's usually always room for everyone. We've never had to turn anyone away in the 3 years we've run this event.

Is my ticket really free?

Yes, if you want it to be. This is a Free/Donations Welcome event so we'll ask you to contribute to cover our costs but there's absolutely no obligation to pay. If you'd like to help us out with a contribution, that would be brillirant and we'll love forever. Promise.
