About this event
TINY HOUSES - FUN WITH easy drawing and or painting
We all love little houses and travel around the world (snooping?) really and I thought this would be a fun exercise in Urban Sketching but directly from your home since we can't travel yet!!
As most of you know I have been running a little club at my studio at Newhampton Arts Centre for a few years now. We met once a month to work on small-scale art, sketchbooks and sometimes textiles. It was a great opportunity to swap ideas, have some social time and eat quite a lot of biscuits.
We all found it invaluable to get out of the house and away from other distractions to get cracking with what we love to do. There was no tuition, but ideas and motivation were in abundance. We also laughed!
Since the pandemic hit this had to stop. I know we have missed it. But we must look for new opportunities to meet, connect and be inspired. In fact even though we can meet in groups of six now we still want to keep this fun activity going online
This is an art club for all – no matter what stage or standard. You do not need to be a 'member' - it's a rock up and join in affair. Who knows how it might develop…organically I hope? ‘Wolf Town Art Club’ is a safe supportive space to practice art. For now we will host on Zoom. You will click the link (which I send you a few days before our meet up) just before 11am on 13th June and we will sign off at 1pm. Bring your own lunch or favourite cuppa.
Do bring along anything you have been working on - especially any results from last time (Tree fun) if you came - we might have time to show some to each other - and anything you would like to work on after my activities if there is time and if you wish. No pressure here!
- There's a lot of forgiveness in drawing little houses and accuracy is NOT required!!!!! There will be fun exercises and ways to approach this activity.
We can show our work at the end (although there is ZERO pressure to do this) if we want. Many of us have met before here in this online group but newcomers are ALWAYS made welcome.
MATERIALS:
Please bring some easy to use art materials -
Some white or light paper to work on - I use an A5 sketchbook, A4 size would also be good - bigger if you like. Decent quality paper is good if you are going to use any wet media see below. You might like to start the warm ups on some scrap paper - I use opened out envelopes and usually end up sticking them in my book later.
Crayons and a pencil are perfect for this but I also like a variety of materials so some felt tips, Tombows or markers. Sometimes a few acrylic markers or sharpie colours are nice. I often have Neo Colour II or wax crayons. Anything else you like - bring it but you don't need many colours.
A small paint brush, water colour, acrylic or gouache and a jar of water.
Here is a link to Jackson's Art Online - if you shop through this link you will get up to 10% discount:

You will get a Zoom link to the session in your confirmation email, another two days before the event and one about an hour before we begin.
It's nice to have your camera on in the session so we can feel more like a club but if you don't want to you can switch off your camera.
Looking forward to seeing you all there – limited space so ... sign up quickly to avoid disappointment!!
