Tea Party, Brunch and Leadership and Ministry Development Seminars

Walking the journey of ministry can often be very lonely and confusing. It's one thing to know what you've been called to do, and it's another thing to know how to do it.

Then again you have all the obstacles trying to stop you from doing what you've been called to do.

Our vision is to help you, as a woman, remove all the limits to your God-given vision and being all that God has called you to be.

Our vision is to empower you as a woman in ministry, and equip you for what God has called you to do.

This is not only about your continuous education and development as a woman in ministry or leadership, but it is also a platform for helping develop your ministry and taking your ministry further, increasing your influence and maximising your impact.

Time is short.

The work is plenty.

You don't have to be stuck going around the wilderness for 40 years like the children of Israel did, not knowing what your next step should be.

You don't have to face ministry challenges or your challenges as a woman in ministry alone, God's power and wisdom is present for moving forward and getting unstuck when we gather together.

So join us for our next WOMAN WITHOUT LIMITS, Leadership and Ministry Development Seminars series, where we encourage, educate, and equip Women in Ministry, and get answers for your hard pressed questions.

Rev'd Marcia DaCosta

Marcia has been an ordained minister since 1991, accepted Christ 46 years ago, personal encounter 35 years ago. She graduated from Hampstead Bible College in 1987 before going into ministerial work in 1988 when she became a bible college lecturer. She has lectured since then and, in many countries across the world as an Itinerant speaker/Minister/Pastor.

In January 2001 Marcia pioneered Love Fellowship Church. The people the Holy Spirit spoke to her about were given as a direct audible command – “those are your people go out and get them”. They were the homeless people living in the London’s Waterloo area around the station, underpass and church park. Every Sunday, for over 11+ years, they have had their church service, and a cooked meal provided by the church. It has been an unconventional church and a true example of ‘church without walls’. Marcia is known as the ‘Skippers Pastor’.

Her heart in ministering to the rejected and broken enables her to move in the gifts of the Spirit in powerful yet unique way, seeing weekly salvations and physical emotional and spiritual healing in so many lives. The membership has grown greatly over the years. The members come from all over the world, most living on the streets. This church meets them where they are at and the Holy Spirit changes their lives. The Church supports some in being able to move into hostels or their own flats. It provides ongoing pastoral support.

Much of her life has been given to a dynamic prayer and teaching ministry, which took her to many nations of the world; and she has a prayer initiative called Praying for Nations. Marcia has been invited to churches in UK and Europe to teach on prayer and intercession. Alongside her burden for intercession, on issues in the UK and the nations, she has an assignment from God to encourage and equip women in leadership and ministry, including pastor’s wives. This is through ‘Women in Ministry and Leadership Network’ she founded, also launched in both Germany and Italy. She mentors many young men and women, and is a ‘spiritual mother’ to many, helping them fulfil their destiny. She is a Pastor to Pastors.

Marcia’s involvement both in and outside of the church is extensive. She has been a staff minister in her local church and also travelled to many nations on missions. In the UK she ministers in many denominations, also teaching and ministering the Word and ministering to church leaders and working with churches where there are issues in the church. Marcia still maintains a daughterly relationship with her previous pastors of 29 years ago. She receives ministerial oversight and covering for her ministry from Connections UK (a mission and apostolic organisation, pioneered by the late Apostle Philip Mohabir) and from her previous pastors. Marcia was a member of the Board of Trustees for the African and Caribbean Evangelical Alliance (ACEA) and has been a lecturer on ACEA’s part time youth work course. Marcia was also a Board Member of MILE (Mission in London’s Economy), which placed chaplains in large organisations around the capital. She is a member of the Evangelical Alliance. Currently Marcia is a Chaplain to an organisation supporting ex-military personnel (WASP), and a local borough Police Department of the Metropolitan Police Service.

Marcia has supported a number of African and Caribbean led churches in producing Child Protection Policies. She does a lot of training in religious/faith and community groups on children, young people, and families and on child protection; also does training in social work and management practice. The breadth of her expertise in the fields of Social Work and Social Work Management has enabled her to work extensively with children, young people and their families on youth and Child Protection issues and has enhanced her love for people.

Over the past 15 years Marcia has been a consultant to a number of strategic organisations (including government Ministers), giving independent advice at top levels, on various issues affecting different communities in London. She sits on the London Safeguarding Children’s

Board subgroup for Faith, Communities and culture; and on The Mayor’s Group looking at safeguarding children.

Previously Marcia received a Role of Honour Certificate of Recognition, from The African and Caribbean Evangelical Alliance and sponsored by Premier Christian Radio, for outstanding contribution towards Black Christian Faith in the UK. She holds an MSc Degree from the University of Surrey. Marcia has received 2 nominations for the Wise Women Awards 2012 – Christian Leadership and Woman in Community.
