Women Against State Pension Inequality
Sat 29 April 2017, 13:00 – 16:00 BST
Are you one of the 50,000 women in the Glasgow and Lanarkshire region who has been affected by State Pension Age changes? After paying National insurance for 45 years the Government has delayed the age you can claim your State Pension by up to 6 years - with little or no notice.
This is costing the women affected over £40,000, forcing them to stay in often unsuitable work and pay additional National Insurance. There was no chance to 'Catch up' with the timetable they imposed.
We are a group who have gotten together to protest this along with women across the whole of the UK.
Come along to the Glad Cafe and meet our volunteers - we will be having an hour from 12 till 1 where we can advise you how to formally complain to the Government and be part of the nationwide challenge to these unfair arrangements in the High court.
Stay on for the meeting where we will look back at all we have achieved to date and plan for further action.
This issue not only affects us but society as a whole who may depend on us for carer responsibilities and are forcing people to stay in work blocking opportunities for younger workers.
