Description

Women and Enterprise

Little Hulton have been using an enterprise based approach to building social and economic capital and to inspire people to act. The focus has been on unlocking entrepreneurial and creative potential as well as harnessing under-utilised assets to maximise impact.

We will all meet on Sunday afternoon and will start things off with an informal meal to meet and get to know each other.

On Monday, we will meet some of the amazing women from Little Hulton who have developed their own enterprises and promoted the ideal of creating social change and building sustainable enterprises in Little Hulton. We will also showcase the work of the Little Hulton Big Local Partnership including the craft collective and Sale Sharks’ work with young people. The afternoon involves a visit to the pavilion at Peel Park where Little Hulton Big Local are involved in a significant capital works programme in extending the building and setting up a community café and exploring other uses for the building. There will also be an opportunity to input into a discussion on how to encourage more men into enterprise. Along with the results of our community research project, we have a huge amount of interesting knowledge and useful information to share with you all.

Who is this for?

It is for people in Big Local and resilient communities’ areas who want to:

  • Find out what social entrepreneurs are doing in other areas.
  • Learn together about the challenges, pitfalls and ways to succeed.
  • Find out about ways in which social entrepreneurs have addressed specific issue like inclusive and impactful volunteering, setting up community cafes and catering ventures, being kind to yourself whilst supporting others, seeing strengths, assets and opportunities across communities despite adversity.

Join us in June for 2 days of ideas, energy and fresh approaches to making a difference in your area. This will also be a great opportunity to meet and mingle with social entrepreneurs from across the UK who are on the same journey as you.

Places on this experience are limited and are available on a first come, first served basis.

UnLtd via The Local Trust will cover all reasonable travel, accommodation and meal expenses.
