Description

Women and the Economy: Achieving Equality in the Workplace

The DAUK Policy Network and Resolutions and Committee and DAUK Women's Caucus are excited to invite you to our joint event on October 16th, entitled Women and the Economy: Achieving Equality in the Workplace.

The evening will start with Jihann Pedersen and Wen-Wen Lindroth, event co-chairs, presenting on the social, political and economic benefits of women's full participation in the labor force

Our special keynote speaker is Mitesh Sheth, the CEO of Redington Ltd, an investment consulting firm. Mitesh is well known in the City as a champion of diversity and inclusion (D&I) and sustainable culture in the workplace. Under his leadership, Redington in 2018 succeeded in closing the gender pay gap for women in the firm. We have asked Mitesh to discuss with us his commitment to workplace gender equality, his strategies for achieving it and what we can do, as agents of change, to get closer to achieving the dream of economic equality.

Our meeting will conclude with a group discussion lead by Jihann and Wen-Wen on how protections for women in the workplace have been damaged under the Trump administration and what actions we can take to restore these civil rights.

About the Speakers:

Wen-Wen Lindroth joined the American (and global) workforce three decades ago and has dedicated two of those to the investment industry. She is currently Lead Cross-Asset Strategist at Fidelity International. Wen-Wen serves as Co-Chair of the DAUK Policy Network & Resolutions Committee and her passion is to create and support inclusive economic policies. She is an elected member of the Democrats Abroad UK Executive Committee, a Democrats Abroad Voting Representative and an active Women's Caucus Leader.

Jihann Pedersen, founder of Pedersen Consultancy, is a certified executive coach and business consultant. Having held senior positions in leading companies in the maritime, IT and education industries, Jihann now lends her expertise to business professionals looking to achieve professional growth and quantifiable impact. She is also an elected member of the DAUK Womens Caucus Leadership Committee.
