Event description
A night of revolutionary ideas and fresh conversations to get you fired up for the new decade ahead.

About this Event

This January, in a secret venue in London, there will be a special gathering of women diving into the new decade and how we can shape it for the better. Will you be one of them?

If you're fascinated by where the world is going and your place in making a change within it, then this is the event for you. It's the start of 2020 and we're surfing the shifts in society, the environment and the world of work. There are new opportunities to make a difference and emerging challenges to take on. At this gathering, we'll explore how to navigate these shifts together.

This event is about participation, thought-provocation and connection. We're inviting our expert speakers (our messengers) to share the knowledge and mindsets to take on the decade ahead, and we're building the connections with one another to create positive change through own lives.

Our messengers will include:

Samantha Moyo on the new social activism. Samantha is a Disruption Doctor, Polymath, Activist and Entrepreneur. She founded Morning Gloryville, the original sober rave movement growing the community to 200,000 in 23 cities, and is one of the UK's leading Decolonial Thinkers at the intersection of entertainment, activism and indigenous wisdom.

Dr Wanlin Wang on saving the planet. Dr Wang is a senior lawyer at Client Earth, using the law in the fight against climate change. As we enter a year with facing the biggest climate change conferences ever, her work on Chinese climate change law, the protection of marine biodiversity and legal assistance to pollution victims will come to the fore. She will share the global challenge ahead, and how they can be tackled.

Samantha Clarke on fulfilment at work. Samantha's book 'Love It or Leave It' is due to be released this Spring, building a new movement for how to navigate the impact of technology on happiness at work and elevate emotional intelligence to inspire change. Samantha is a regular workshop leader at The School of Life and The Guardian Live, and will be helping us navigate the working world ahead.

You. This is a participatory event and we want to hear what you see as on the big themes of the 20s. When you sign up for this event you will have the opportunity to share your thoughts, and there will also be time and space for conversations on the night.

This event will be hosted by Kim Willis, Heroine's Journey founder, and the panel conversations moderated by Sarah Bentley, founder of Made in Hackney.

This Heroine's Journey event is open to all women (and brave men!) interested in creating a better future. If you're fascinated by where the world is going and your place in making a change within it, then this is the event for you.

A proportion of event revenues will go to a women's charity.

Join the conversation at @heroinesjouney_ on Instagram and on the #womenchangeworlds hashtag.
