About this event
The DIY workshop provides access to cycling equipment, tools and non-judgemental advice to inform and empower women and girls to cycle.
Whether you're on the trails, the road, or the cycle path to work — things can (and do!) go wrong. This friendly women+ practical session will give you the confidence to deal with the most common mid-ride mechanicals so you can keep rolling and avoid being stranded.
What You’ll Learn
This workshop focuses on Trailside Repairs, covering the essential skills and tools to help you handle issues on the go, including:
- How to perform a pre-ride safety check (the M-Check)
- How to fix a puncture (with tubes and basic tubeless advice)
- What to do if your chain drops or breaks
- Quick fixes for brake rub, gear problems, and buckled wheels
- What to carry in your trailside toolkit
- Improvised fixes to get you home safely
Who It’s For
This session is designed for all types of riders – whether you ride MTB, gravel, road, or commuting bikes. No previous mechanical knowledge is needed, and you won’t be expected to take your bike apart!

You’ll learn through:
- Live demonstrations
- Group discussion
- Q&A opportunities throughout
There’s no pressure to get hands-on, but there will be plenty of chances to ask questions and see techniques up close.
At any point during the session you are welcome to use our tools and fix your bike, or join in for the whole session. We can always learn from past experiences - our own or others!
Tea/Coffee and biscuits provided (Please let us know in advance if you have a specific dietry requirement and we will do our best to provide some yummy biscuits!!!)
Women+ includes anyone identifying as female, trans or non-binary
Under 18's to be accompanied by parent/guardian please.

No! This workshop is designed for complete beginners, those with some rusty knowledge and those who would like to use our tools - all within a supportive environment.
For this specific workshop you don't have to bring your own bike, but if you would like to you are welcome.
No, everything you need is available at the workshop.
Yes, we have toilet facilities
The front workshop is flat, has wide open doors and the toilets can be accessed from the outside of the building.
There are free parking in and around Llangollen - some areas are an hour only, others are open time limit. Alternatively there is paid parking in Market Street and East Street. Both are close to Drosi Bikes, however, East Street is the closest. You can pay by phone, card or cash.
