Welcome to the THIRD ANNUAL Convention for the Association of Women Drummers, Makers and Players!
This convention is open to all women who drum, want to drum, are interested in drumming, have been drumming for eons and more. You do not need to be a member to take part in the convention.
Inspired by the magic that happens when women come together to drum, Melonie was drawn to bring people together all in the name of drumming! This happened in 2023 and was the most magical day. People asked for more and more time to do it in,so in 2024 we held a 2 day event with late night Saturday entertainment! 2025 is going to be even better with the whole vanue to ourselves throughout the entire weekend and hopefully workshops by the inimitable Alessandra Belloni from New York!
You can expect:
- A programme of talks, performances and workshops to get your inner beat moving and spark your curiousity (all included in the ticket price)
- Stalls sharing their wares (at the beginning and end, in-between talks and workshops and during breaks)
- 2 Kitchens selling food and drinks for lunch and snacks
- An option for dinner pn Saturday night
- Bands!
- An attendance of likeminded women all into or interested in drumming
- A raffle with awesome prizes!!
- The GOLDEN BEATER AWARDS with prizes!
- A weekend full of fun and connection!

The 2024 line up included a massive drum circle, Singing with Sisters, Handdrumming for mindfulness, A shamanic Sound Bath, Voice and Drum Alchemy workshops, Talks on drumming for women's life transistions, and Earth to rebirth - the journey of the drum, there was a Middle Eastern Frame Drumming workshop, Drum, chant, dance workshop, Drum and crystal bowl bath, Divinity of the Drum art workshops, Sacred Bee medicine journey and connection to the Melissae and MORE!
Your ticket cost entitles you to entry and access to all talks and workshops. You'll make a choice using the programme which will be sent out nearer the time as to which you wish to attend. The raffle and kitchens incur additional costs.
Depending on full weekend ticket sales - day tickets may become available mid 2025 but in 2024 all weekend tickets sold out 3 month s before the event.
There is a large car park at the venue and it is 10 mins walk from Marks Tey train station which has direct links to and from London, Colchester and more. Lots of women are came and stayed over nearby so if you need a buddy to stay with just email web@thedrumwoman.com and we can put out a call!
By attending you will also benefit from a discounted rate to join the Association of Women Drummers, Makers and Players if you sign up on the day! Members recieve £10 off of the ticket price for this event. If you are a member you will receive an email for your tickets - do not buy from here.
If YOU or someone you know is interested in holding a stall, running a workshop or doing a performance do get in touch with Melonie, as the 2025 itinerary is in creation. I am aprticualrly looking for Samba, Taiko, Batacudia etc style drumming for workshops.
