Let us demystify any concerns you may have about joining the industry.

The day will be split in two halfs.

This is a great opportunity to ask those questions and have them answered by industry specialists.

    Frequently asked questions

How old do I have to be to attend?

You have to be a minimum of 17 years old to operate the machinery.

Is this open to all genders?

Yes! We would love for anyone and everyone to attend this event. It is a great opportunity to ask those burning questions, meet instructors, local employers and learn so much about this wonderful industry.

Do I have to take part in the practical session?

No. If this isn't your cup-of-tea, then no worries at all. However, we do strongly advise it as it is such a great opportunity. Have the controls at your fingertips and operate the machinery with our competent instructors.

What machines will be available to operate?

We are aiming to have a 14t Excavator, a forward tipping dumper and a telescopic handler.

Will someone be able to assist us with explaining the initial steps required to join the industry?

Yes, we will have support from local employers and awarding bodies (such as the CITB) - so all your questions can be answered. If they can't, for any reason, we will be sure to take your question away and find out for you.
