Women in Cyber Unlimited is part of the Cyber Wales Group. The meetings provide a valuable way for women working, or hoping to work, in the cyber industry to meet and support each other. Our next event is taking place in person in Cardiff, with an online (Teams) option for those who aren't able to join us in person. You don't have to live or work in Wales to attend.
Our hosts for this event are Cardiff Metropolitan University, and teas and coffees will be provided.
We will have a number of speakers to be confirmed in the next few weeks.
Provisional timings: Arrive 1:45pm for a prompt 2pm start for in person attendees (networking and refreshments from 1pm), main event to run from 2pm-4pm (for both in person and on-line attendees).
We hope you will be able to join us for this event.
Our speakers:
- Madelaine Thomas, Founder of Image Angel
- Emma Derbi & Rachael Medhurst, Founders of Positive Cyber Solutions
- Belen Acuña, Whats Exposed
Our speakers:
Madelaine Thomas is the founder of Image Angel, a company dedicated to combating non-consensual intimate image (NCII) abuse online using forensic watermarking. Their survivor-led work has been recommended as best practice by the UK Department for Science, Innovation and Technology. Madelaine will open up about her journey from Dominatrix to tech founder, giving a peek into how her experience as a survivor informs the company's movements and the challenges that come with entering the world of entrepreneurship without the coporate foot in the door.
Emma Derbi, founder of Positive Cyber Solutions: In 2024 myself and my co-founder Rachael Medhurst took a big leap and started our own business known as Positive Cyber Solutions Ltd. Our goal was simple: to help UK businesses build stronger cyber resilience by achieving important cyber security certifications, providing practical training, and offering clear advice every step of the way. It hasn't been smooth sailing, we've faced plenty of challenges, but each one has pushed us to grow, adapt, and keep building something we're really proud of. PCS is in a great place and already achieved a lot, now we are moving onto the next chapter and we're excited about where this will take us.
