Description

Women in Football are delighted to invite you to the Diversity Matters event in collaboration with the City of Football from 6pm to 9pm on Wednesday 20th April 2016 at Notts County Football Club.

The evening will kick off with a mini workshop, 'Football needs you: How to get on a Football Board'.

Our chair for the evening's panel discussion is BBC Sport reporter Jess Creighton.

Our panel include:

Jason Lee

Over the course of a more than 25 year career in English football, Jason Lee has established an outstanding reputation across all levels of the game. Playing from the Premier League to Non-League football has provided Jason an invaluable knowledge of the inner workings and operational structure of football in this country, experience that he has endeavoured to apply for the benefit of his fellow pros and the local community since his retirement. After playing for major clubs including Nottingham Forest, Charlton Athletic and Watford, Jason transitioned into the area of coaching and management.

Jason currently works with the PFA to promote equality, diversity and education. A respected and influential figure who professionally represents the aims and ideals of the association, he has learned how to both act in an ambassadorial capacity and contribute at a high level in the decision making.

Annie Zaidi

Our Women in Football Ambassador Annie was the first South Asian and Muslim woman in her region to get a level two coaching certification badge from the Football Association. After previously being mentored by BACA, the Black and Asian Coaches Association, she became the organisation’s chair in January of this year and is also an ambassador for Sporting Equals. Annie is currently working towards her UEFA B license and is coaching the under 11s at Leicester City Girls’ Centre of Excellence. Annie’s aspiration is to become a fully qualified FA tutor and eventually coach elite players of all genders full-time.
