Join the Royal College of Physicians for an evening honouring the role of contemporary and historical women in medicine.

Attend the private view of the new exhibition 'Women in medicine: a celebration', a series of specially commissioned photographic portraits of some of today's leading female clinicians, pictured with the women from medicine's past who have inspired them.

Hear a lecture on one of the most pressing topics in present day treatment from a leading current physician. In 'Antimicrobial resistance: why should you care if antibiotics stop working?', Dr Susan Hopkins, consultant in infectious diseases and microbiology at London's renowned Royal Free Hospital, examines the possibility of a future without effecive anti-bacterial medicines, a world in which we can't deliver healthcare as we know it today.

Take a tour of 'Women in medicine: a celebration' with the curator, and discover the fascinating stories of some of the early female pioneers of medicine. Women who not only opened up the profession for all, but changed treatment and practice for the better, improving the lives of patients and the general population alike.
