Description

Women in politics: The London Assembly

Have you considered getting involved in politics - including standing for the London Assembly - but have not quite been able to take the plunge? Do you need more information but don't know where to get it? Or do you worry you don't have the skills but you still want to make a difference?

Come along to this workshop for women to explore what it takes to become a member of the London Assembly, with guest speakers Florence Eshalomi (Assembly Member, Labour Group) and Caroline Russell (Assembly Member, City Hall Greens). This workshop will look at how to begin your life in politics and the speakers will share their stories of how they got elected. It is an opportunity to share what difference you would like to make, to explore what barriers stop women from getting into politics and to make an action plan for your own political journey.

The Parliament Project is gratefully supported by the London Assembly in the hosting of this workshop, which will be faciltated by Seyi Akiwowo.

We adhere to our belief that our workshops are best delivered as women-only* spaces where woman can come together to share, collaborate and support one another.

*Our women-only events are inclusive of Trans and Intersex women, as well as non-binary and gender fluid people who identify in a significant way as woman or female.
