Description

On the 27th of April, the Right Honourable Ann Widdecombe PC DSG will address the Bow Group in Parliament on "Women in Politics: Opportunity or Outcome?"

Ann Widdecombe is a former Conservative MP for Maidston known for her numerous television and radio appearances and for her outspoken defence of social conservatism. As well as being an MP, Ann served as Shadow Home Secretary, Shadow Health Secretary and as Minister of State for Prisons.

Ann will speak to the Bow Group on the topic of women in politics, exploring whether conservatives should support equality of opportunity or equality of outcome in engaging a greater number of women in the political process.

With the announcement of the next general election for the 8th June, it is possible that the portion of the event dedicated to the lecture, which was due to take place within the Palace of Westminster, will be cancelled.
However, in that case, the dinner will be maintained and Ms. Widdecombe will be addressing us there instead.

Dinner will take place at a restaurant named Firecracker, located at 44, Horseferry Road, Westminster, SW1 2AF at 21:00 until around 22:30.

On the menu:

Starters: chicken with spicy peanut sauce - or - vegetable roll with sweet chili sauce (V)

Main course: Beef with black bean sauce - or - fried noodle with beansprout (V)

The price for a dinner seat is £35 per person.

The dress code is lounge suit or business attire.

We hope to see you on the 27th of April
