Where do we meet?

1st Floor Hintze Hall, by Guy the Gorilla, next to the Treasures gallery.  To get to the meeting point enter Hintze Hall on the ground floor then go up the main staircase. Turn right at the statue of Darwin and continue up the stairs. When you reach the top Guy is ahead.

Question 2

Who will we hear about?

Question 3

Tickets are sold out but I really want to come on the tour. Do you take walk-ups?

Yes, we reserve a number of tickets for people on the day to come to the meeting point and we'll see if we can fit you in. Ticket holders will be prioritised and so the walk-up tickets are subject to availability

Question 4

I'd like to bring a child / children. What is the minimum recommended age for the tour?

Accepted Answer

We say that the recommended age is 11+, this is because there's a lot of talking and it lasts for 45 minutes. But our friendly volunteers can usually differentiate the learning so that younger visitors can also enjoy the tour.

Question 5

I can't do the 45 minutes, can I join the tour at the start and do the amount that I have time for?

Yes, just leave the tour group when you need to.

Question 6

What if I'm late?

Accepted Answer

Come and join us anyway, we're on the first floor balcony in Hintze Hall or the Minerals gallery. Our volunteer tour guides wear purple polo shirts with "volunteer" embroidered on them - so look out for them and join the group.

Question 7

Are there places to sit at the different tour locations?

Accepted Answer

Unfortunately not. There is seating at the start point and end point of the tour. Beforehand check whether our cloakroom has a stool to lend you - you can bring these stools around on the tour. Or you can do a shorter part of the tour and join again another time.
