Description

Meet Thomina Pearson, who left Domestic Service to join the Women's Army Auxiliary Corps (WAAC) in January 1918. Discover how the first World War changed her life and that of thousands of women forever.

Wearing the uniform of the WAAC Wendy Taylor will talk about the life and times in Military Service and the significant changes to fashion as it adapted to meet womens wartime roles.

In the afternoon Scarborough School of Arts will present their work made for the Historical and Performance costume Degree Course.

Burnby Hall Gardens ( next to the Venue) is open till 5.30 and a discount entry is available for those attending the

talk.
