  • How to identify gendered communication styles in day-to-day workplace talk

  • How to identify the communication culture of your workplace and how this relates to gender

  • How gender affects how you are evaluated and judged at work

  • How to manage and protect your professional online identity

  • How to develop linguistic toolkits to enhance your leadership communication styles at work

Who Should Attend?

This workshop is mainly aimed at professionals working in public sector and third sector organisations, higher education and further education institutions, as well as individuals who are looking to enhance their career progression in the corporate world.

What To Expect:

This interactive workshop will introduce the crucial role played by language in preventing women from breaking through the glass ceiling and how our communication at and about work can encode unconscious bias.

Workshop Leaders:

Professor Louise Mullany will lead this workshop. She has spent the last 20 years researching and teaching gender and organisational communication in a wide range of businesses and organisations in the UK and globally, from SMEs through to large multinationals.

She will be joined by Dr Dimitra Vladimirou who has extensive experience conducting research on language and gender, specialising in particular on digital communication
