Professor Dawn Edge
Dawn is Professor of Mental Health and Inclusivity at the University of Manchester, the institution’s first Black woman professor, and its Academic Lead for Equity, Diversity & Inclusion (EDI) on ‘Race’, Religion, and Belief.
Dawn is a Governor of The Health Foundation and Director of the Equality, Diversity and Inclusion Research Unit (EDI-RU) within Greater Manchester Mental Health NHS Trust.
She has previously served as Non-Executive Director of NHS Mental Health Trusts and on Boards of Trustees of community organisations working collaboratively with marginalised communities to tackle structural disparities in health service access, care experiences, and outcomes.
Dawn is committed to intentionally creating opportunities for people from racialised and other marginalised groups to enter and thrive in academia and research.
