Event description

Description

The Women of Achievement awards recognise excellence in the contributions and impact that our female staff and student have made across all disciplines, staff groups and career stages. Recognition of these achievements supports and is aligned to one of the priorities of the Strategic Plan, to reward and recognise our staff, focusing on excellence in leadership, research, student education, quality and professional service. Nominations have been gathered from our community of academic, research, professional and support staff and have been judged by a panel that includes David Hogg, PVC, Viv Jones PVC, Linda Mortimer-Pine, Deputy Director of HR, Steve Scott Dean of MaPS and Jane Francis, Director of the British Antarctic Survey.

The event will be hosted by the Vice-Chancellor from 15.00-16.15 in the Clothworkers Centenary Concert Hall (CCCH) in the School of Music. There will be an opportunity to network in CCCH foyer from 14.45 and again at 16.15. Our guest speaker will be Professor Jane Francis, Director of the British Antarctic Survey. Jane will speak about her leadership journey, previously at the University of Leeds, and now for the Antarctic Survey.
