Women of Steel Talks: Trades
Thu 27 October 2016, 18:30 – 20:00 BST
Over the last 30 years there have been strong links in Sheffield between women and manual trades. Many women have been self employed, and there have also been some ground breaking initiatives in women’s education.
Join us for an evening of talks kicking off with Liz Kettle, Outreach Worker at WEST. We'll be discussing women's role in manual trades and hearing from women who have experience in this field.
We'd love for you to join us afterwards for an informal chat and a glass of wine.
The WEST Fund was established in memory of Ros Wall who was instrumental in setting up a range of local and national projects to encourage women and girls to take up careers in non-traditional roles in science, engineering, technology and the built environment.
Liz Kettle is the part-time outreach and promotion coordinator for WEST. She has worked for the voluntary and community sector in South Yorkshire for over 25 years, specialising in successful communications, publications and outreach.
Line Cut Supply produces made-to-order women's workwear from our studio based in Sheffield. We are passionate about empowering, motivating and encouraging women to get making.
