How often do grand daughters and grannies, wild women, lovely women, uncertain and assured women, intellectuals and artists, women living love, hope, curiosity, passion or just their beautiful, bruised and tender womanliness listen to scientists, singers, poets, visionaries, activists, and then sashay hips together to the sound of women beating drums?
How often do you get the chance to spend a day that will change your life WITH JOY?
We're not so silly as to think we've covered all bases, but this remarkable event draws on the wisdom, insight and inspiration of women from so many walks of life and so many ways of living.
The ticket price is £55, less if you come with others. It's not the cheapest event in town (we're a not for profit and entirely independent) but an extraordinary day is guaranteed. So what exactly do you get for what equates to the cost of a new, sweat-shop-made summer dress? Here goes...
Get a bunch of friends together: seven women will pay for six tickets, twelve women will pay for ten tickets. Write to us via the website if you want to apply for one of the free tickets donated by Women of Influence. You must tell us a bit about you and why you want to come. Women on Fire is a not for profit organisation. We're completely independent, funded by generosity and huge-heartedness. Please bring yours. Make your contribution to something amazing.

What we're about
Women on Fire encourages women to live the power of gentleness. To bring tenderness to all walks of life, personal and professional, but most especially to themselves to promote confidence in female intelligence, instinct and leadership. Women on Fire is joining up brilliant women-led initiatives worldwide. This from founder Judith Seelig: "Women as decision makers constitute our one underused resource in addressing all the crises of our time: ecological, economic, social and spiritual. We want to encourage women to develop self-confidence without feeling challenged by patriarchal certainties. We want to offer instinctual wisdom as a partner to reason, wise women to accompany wise men."
The date ...Easter Saturday
There's a bit of a story about 23rd April this year. Check the website for more details. It's the Easter hols, which is great if you want to take a break from work, study or family ties. Mothers please bring your daughters so long as they are comfortable with sitting quietly for 20 minutes' maximum listening. Daughters please bring your mothers so long as they can be charmed into putting themselves first. Anyone with children under two years old is welcome to bring them to the day. Babes in arms, lovely. Yes please.
This spectacular building opened in 1912 as the headquarters of the Wesleyan Methodist Church. It was intended to be a meeting place for people of all faiths and a place of "great service for conferences on religious, educational, scientific, philanthropic and social questions". Funds for the building were raised by individual donations restricted to just one guinea (little more than a pound) per person, regardless of their wealth. In 1914 the Suffragettes, campaigning for the vote for women, met at Central Hall. Mahatma Gandhi spoke here in 1932. In 1946 this was the chosen venue for the very first General Assembly of the newly formed United Nations.
Women on Fire is for women...to find a deep and unseatable self-confidence in themselves. Not to assert or to dominate, but to step forward as decision-makers. The programme for this day is designed entirely for women, but this does not exclude men. Please come if you're interested.
