Women on Foot:Christmas and Cocktails: Friday 6th December 2019
Event Information
Description
Cannot it really be that time of year again.....Our Christmas and Cocktails walk follows one of our favourite routes starting at East Finchley Tube station and finishing up around the South Bank where the Christmas Market ensures buying opportunities and that festive spirit.
The walk really does give us a flavour of how green London is as it takes us through a total of seven major green spaces including Hampstead Heath, Primrose Hill and Hyde Park as welll as a local park. It's about eight miles in length and has a number of opt out points if you need to leave early or your legs just get tired but I have the feeling you will want to stay for the cocktails at the end.
This walk is one of our most popular and always books up fast so get the date in your diary and claim your place now.
To make sure we are in flow with the weather, whatever it may be, please wear layers as this allows you to take off or add as temperature varies. Bring a bottle of water and a snack or two e.g some nuts or a protein bar incase you get the nibbles and also money for lunch and coffees and of course cocktails.
Final details will be emailed out to those signing up at the latest the day before the walk.
With "Women on Foot" we have weekend walks each month. We alternate the weekend days so that one month the walk is on a Saturday and then the next month on a Sunday.
It’s a day of investing in you, your health and wellbeing; of putting yourself first and as the opportunity arises, doing business in a different way! But you don’t have to be a business woman – you can be a woman who enjoys the company of other women, a woman who has chosen to take a day out from her job to look after herself, a mum who is child free for a time and choosing to spend her day in this way.
Walking is a wonderful way to get some exercise, to see a new part of a city of a corner of the countryside. It’s a wonderful way to socialise and to network too. When you’re walking you don’t need to keep eye contact and this can be very useful when challending and difficult conversations are taking place. In all my years of walking with women I have observed the most frivilous and lighthearted conversations one moment and the next a very deep and serious discussion the next. Walking allows all of that.
At the end of the day you’ll –
-
come away refreshed and with a clearer head having had a day in the fresh air
-
you’ll have met great women
-
you’ll have chatted, shared and learnt
-
you’ll have enjoyed coffee and lunch stops and perhaps an after walk drink
-
you’ll feel energised and exercised
-
you’ll be looking for the date of the next event..
This is time and space for you and it’s going to happen once a month.
