The people behind Bristol’s annual cycling festival bring you a night of short films exploring different facets of women’s cycling. From athletes pushing the limits of endurance, to shy schoolkids hoping to take to two wheels, all are united by their love of the bicycle.
Includes the first showing in Bristol of COME ON EILEEN, which tells the story of Eileen Sheridan’s record breaking 1954 ride from Lands End to John O’Groats, in just 2 days 11 hours. Using archive footage, dramatization, and interviews with Eileen herself (now 91), it’s a time capsule of both an astonishing era for women’s sport (Eileen was just one a series of exceptional British women cyclists) and of a more innocent Britain.
The Cube is a members' cinema, which means you'll be charged an extra pound if you're not already a card-carrying member. On the plus side it means you get to take your drinks in with you.
